Early music enthusiasts in Nova Scotia are marking the passing of David Wilson, one of the pioneers of early music in this province, and co-founder of the Early Music Society of Nova Scotia. As co-founder of the EMSNS, David Wilson made a huge contribution to early music in the province. He encouraged students at Dalhousie to take part in his early music ensembles and managed to acquire copies of many early music instruments, some of which we are still using. He also organized early music performances and workshops and increased the number of people involved with early music – both professional and amateur. We owe him a lot of gratitude for the health and strength of early music in Nova Scotia. He will be missed.
